Quamby All Sports Association

Quamby All Sports Association would like to welcome you to it’s Annual Rodeo held on the last weekend in July. A true outback experience for everyone from the very young to the young at heart.

All the usual rodeo events are on display with competitors of various abilities trying their hand at Bull Riding, Bronc Riding as well as timed events such as Steer Wrestling and Barrel Racing.

Quamby is not just about the grown up’s - free entry for children and free kids entertainment all day, plus junior events such as mutton busting and a Poddy Calf Ride give the juniors a chance to don their spurs and chaps for some excitement of their very own.

With the kitchen and bar open all day there is no need to get hungry or thirsty and it’s your chance to taste some great home made food with fresh beef from the local stations. After all the fun of the rodeo is over there is more to do with the famous night time auction with some seriously good items up for grabs, from art work to 4x4 accessories and sporting and outdoor equipment. The party goes on late into the night with a disco in the dust.

From humble beginnings in 1997 the Quamby All Sports Association has gone from strength to strength with the annual family day and rodeo being the major event of the year. The aim back in 1997 was to provide a fun and affordable family day out with any profits from the day being invested back into the local community. This is still the aim of the Quamby All Sports Association and we are proud to have been able to support some great local charities over the years.

In 2012 Quamby All Sports Association won the Cloncurry Shire Australia Day Community Event Of the Year award. An honor which the whole committee were extremely pleased to receive

Roll out your swag, pitch your tent, or hook up your caravan because free camping is available for the weekend with hot food and hot showers available on Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning.

With professional rodeos in both Cloncurry and Mt Isa in the weeks following the Quamby rodeo, it’s the perfect way to get a laid back and fun introduction to the sport of rodeo, catch up with old mates, make new mates, have a laugh, have a beer, and above all else have fun with family and friends.
